I AM MAGIC expectations sticker: Mindful, Accountable, Grounded, Imaginative, Cooperative — that's why YOU ARE MAGIC!

An elementary school assembly.

A 40 minute show for your whole school, built around the expectations you're already teaching. Separate K-2 and 3-5 versions, so it fits the room it's in.

Kayla Kind brings everything. Tell her your venue and she'll make the space work.

Your teachers get a guide to use afterward, so the five keep going once she's left.

Magic is the vehicle, not the point.

In I AM MAGIC, Kayla Kind uses magic to reset expectations and bring to life the character work your school is already doing. The show is highly interactive, and your students become the stars of it.

She spent years running afterschool programs inside schools, and she wrote the magic curriculum that school districts across the country now teach from. So she knows how precious a school day is. None of it is meant to pull your students away from you. It's to keep the learning going through a show that's fun, positive and encouraging, and that leaves students smiling.

Your teachers will thank you.

The best trick in the show isn't hers. It's the moment a kid believes they're magic.

The kind where they listen, keep their word and work with anyone. That's the trick they take home.

Family Engagement Night

All new show

Your teachers keep a teaching guide with a page for each word, so it keeps going after she leaves.

Three ways to make it fit your budget

Most schools mix and match. Tell her what you're working with and she'll help you find yours.

Spend less

  • Book two shows in one day. The second costs less than half.
  • Book the week she's in your area. The first show costs less too.
  • Team up with other schools in your district and save even more.

You make the introduction, she takes it from there.

Use money you already have

  • Title IV-A covers the daytime assembly.
  • Title I family engagement covers Family Engagement Night.
  • Her fee is under the federal micro-purchase limit, so usually no bids.

She'll send a write-up your federal programs director can use.

Let someone else pay

  • A local business sponsors it through your PTO.
  • It kicks off a fundraiser you already run.
  • A state or regional arts grant covers it.

She's happy to help you put the ask together.

"The magic show was great! Kayla had the children engaged the whole time, which as a teacher, I can say was no small feat given the sheer size of the group. My children have been talking about the magic show for weeks now. Thank you Kayla!"

"Kayla performed at our annual school carnival and she was a huge hit, along with Bubbles, her trained bird! Not only did she perform some spectacular magic, she was really funny as well! The kids really enjoyed her performances and Kayla was willing to work with us on having multiple mini-performances during our carnival, so they stayed engaged. I also received many great comments from the parents that attended as well. I would highly recommend hiring Kayla for your next event!"

"If you are looking for an easy way to entertain a room filled with elementary aged kiddos during your Summer programming or school year, Kayla did an excellent job keeping the attention of those in the room, kids and adults alike! We loved watching our friends in the room get called up to participate in the magic show as well. It was a very personable touch. We hope to see her perform in Decorah again soon!"

FAQ

How long is the show?+

40 minutes. There are separate K-2 and 3-5 versions so the show fits the room it's in.

What do we need to provide?+

Not much, Kayla Kind pretty much brings everything. Tell her your venue and she'll make the space work. Most schools use the gym, cafeteria or auditorium.

What grades is it for?+

Kindergarten through 5th grade.

How does it connect to what we're already teaching?+

The whole show is built around five expectations: mindful, accountable, grounded, imaginative and cooperative. Kayla Kind wrote the magic curriculum that school districts across the country now teach from, so the show is built to land right alongside what your students are already learning. Tell her what your school calls yours and she'll name them from the stage.

Is there anything for teachers afterward?+

Yes. Your teachers get a teaching guide to use after the assembly, so the five expectations keep going once she's left.

Can she do more than one show in a day?+

Yes, and that's usually the best way to do it. Younger grades in one show and older grades in another, or a nearby school the same day. It keeps the cost down for everybody.

Do you offer anything in the evening?+

Yes. Title I Family Engagement Night is an evening show for students and their families, and it's an easy add when she's already at your school that day. Title I schools often use it for family engagement.

Is she insured?+

Yes. Kayla Kind carries liability insurance and can send a certificate naming your district as additional insured.

How much does the show cost?+

It depends on how many shows you book in a day and whether she's already touring your area. Most schools book two shows so every grade sees the right version, and the second show costs less than half of the first. Fill out the form and she'll send you exact pricing for your school.

Can we use grant or federal money?+

Yes, many schools pay for assemblies this way. Title IV-A is a great fit for the daytime assembly, and Title I family engagement money is a great fit for Family Engagement Night. She can send a short write-up your federal programs director can use.

Is there a travel fee?+

No. Travel is always included. When she's driving a long way, she fills the day with nearby schools instead of adding a fee.

How far ahead should we book?+

Dates fill up fast, so whenever you're planning, please reach out and we can try to make something work. It never hurts to ask.

Where does she travel?+

Schools across Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota and Texas.
